Those pictures are of hedgehogs, not porcupines. They look VERY different.

I’ve tried to find differences hedhe-hog and Porcupine. And this is the explanation I got from Yahoo Answers:
Hedgehog (in Latin Erinaceus sp.) – is a small ball of more than 7000 spines, four legs and a small tail. It’s favorite habitats are edges of forests, gardens and parks. They are active during evenings and nights, resting between five in the morning and eight in the evening. Hedgehogs are rather lonely creatures, and they are easily starting fights with each other. Their life span is from six to ten years.
Porcupines are rodents best known for their coat of sharp spines, or quills, that defend them from predators. The porcupines include the third largest rodent, after the capybara and the mara. Most porcupines are about 60-90 cm (25-36 inches) long, with a 20-25 cm (8-10 inch) long tail. Weighing between 5-16 kg (12-35 pounds), they are rounded, large and slow. Porcupines come in various shades of brown, grey, and the unusual white. The name “porcupine” comes from combining the Latin for pig and French for spine, hence the nickname “quill pig” for the animal.
The main differences between hedgehog and porcupine quills is that
hedgehog quills are relative smooth and easy to use. Porcupine quills on
the other hand are much larger, have barbs and can be really difficult
to remove when embedded in skin.
Leave those critters alone!!!.
