Redownload Lost Podcast Episodes (without resubscribe)

If you have accidentally deleted an episode of podcast show and want to download it again,
you can tell iTunes to update the podcast and get the lost episodes back.
You still have to re-download the lost episodes, but at least you didn’t have to re-subscribe to the whole podcast.

First, make sure that the podcast is collapsed (the small grey triangle next to the name of the podcast
is pointing to the right). If it is pointing down, click it to collapse the podcast.
Now, hold the Option key (the Shift key on Windows) and click the triangle again to expand the podcast and tell iTunes to get a list of all the episodes. You should now see the familiar orange circle with white arrows next to the name of the podcast, and iTunes will tell you it is updating this podcast in the message area at the top.

iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode

If you had received message from iTunes like this,

“iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. you must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes” ,

you musn’t click restore button. If you did it, then iTunes will do a complete re-sync.

It just only because your operating system detected iPod and put it with drive letter that have been used before. iPod seems to take a drive letter closest to your fixed volumes. For an example, my hard disk drive letter are C, D, and E. I have network drive that assign to letter F. When I plug iPod, automatically, my computer assign drive F to iPod and then i open iTunes, it telling me that “iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode”

So the solution is change the drive letter from

Start |  Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management

or just

Start | Run | compmgmt.msc

or right click My Computer then choose Manage…

then click Disk Management and change the iPod drive letter to another letter that not used by other devices or network drives; change drive letter to another available letter, (G, H, I, J, ….Z).

iPod hang

My ipod locked up and just frozen. It’s only display white apple logo with black background. I keep try to reset it with push the Hold switch but nothing happened.

So i searched google on “ipod hang” and came up with the answers which we can also found in the apple manuals:

– Toggle the Hold switch on and off  (slide it to Hold, then turn it off again).- Press and hold the “Menu” and “Select” (center button) buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip:

– Make sure the finger pressing the Select button (center button) is not touching any part of the click wheel.

– Make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

– Try set it on a flat surface.

– Try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer.

– Make sure the computer is turned on and isn’t set to go to sleep.
